Tour 3: Wine and Artisans Tour
Book / Enquire Tour » Enjoy art but also love your wine? Then this is the tour for you. Travel through beautiful countryside to visit artists and galleries and enjoy dropping in on two award winning wineries. We stop at a wonderful seaside wharf area for you to find something tasty for lunch and to browse even more galleries.
The Nelson Tasman region is the undisputed creative arts centre of New Zealand. This is where the World of Wearable Art (WOW) event was born and the internationally acclaimed Hoglund Art studio has been in operation for thirty years. The region has over 300 working artists. Painters, sculptors, ceramic artists, potters, glass blowers, jewellers, writers and creators draw energy from the spectacular natural environment and create art and crafts that have a unique and personal signature attached to them. Depending on availability there is also may be a chance to meet some of the artisans and winemakers themselves.
As we travel through the pristine countryside, your tour guide is able to provide informative information on the local European and Maori history within the area.
