Book / Enquire Tour »The Twin Regions Wine Tour explores the Waimea Plains region with its alluvial, free draining, gravelled soil, and the softly rolling Moutere Hills where gravel threaded clay, provides a contrasting growing medium for Nelson wines. Each region, with its own unique soil structure, produces some interesting flavour variations in the wine.

The Pinot Noir is deeply flavoured with fine tannins and elegance. The Chardonnay is complex and multi-faceted with excellent structure. Winemakers also produce excellent Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Sampling boutique Nelson wines from four different wineries, this will tempt the most discerning wine lover. Per hectare of vines planted, Nelson consistently wins more awards than the other regions in New Zealand. The region has a great reputation for the aromatic varieties – Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer. It also has its own distinctive take on Sauvignon Blanc, some exquisite examples of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and some superb "stickies". Nelson wines are sold around the world, but you have the chance to experience our wines in the place they were created.

This tour will allow you to take in over 100km of pristine scenery as we travel between the wineries. We also make stops at local art & Craft galleries if time permits.

This is an informative fun afternoon where you will learn to taste wines like a professional. With experienced and friendly guides you are bound to have an enjoyable afternoon. This tour is approximately 5 hours, pick-up and drop-off from your Nelson accommodation is included. First pick up time is 11.00am. All wine tasting costs are included in the booking. This tour does not include meal costs, however there will be a leisurely lunch stop where you can purchase meals if required. (Some wineries can provide delicious platters to accompany your tasting at an added cost. Inform your driver so he can book in advance.)

Cancellation Policy: Up to 5 days before=Re-ticketing at no extra cost OR refund less 20% transaction fee. If cancelled within 5 days of tour there is nil refund.
