Our informative guided City Snapshot Tour is intended to give you an idea of some of Nelson's culture and history. The Nelson Tasman region is home to a host of unique cultural experiences. The early 1840s was when the first formal European settlement (English and German settlement) took place. In this tour you travel around several of the historic buildings, learn some Nelson history and learn a little about the local Maori Culture.

Visit the park where the first rugby game was held; optional walk through the historic Queens Gardens, Nelson Cathedral and along the banks of the Maitai River and see where ancient Maori farmed eels and fished for the native Koura (freshwater crayfish).

We can travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, however this tour could involve some walking. Appropriate footwear such as sports shoes is recommended as well as suitable clothing, depending on the season / weather.

This Tour is approximately 3 hours. First pick up is 9am or 12.30 then a later return to your Nelson accommodation is included.
Please note a minimum of 2 people is necessary for guaranteed departure.
